How to Use Discord on Xbox Series X: 2026 Setup Guide
Discord has become the universal bridge for gamers, and on Xbox Series X, the integration is now native. You no longer need to “transfer” calls from your phone every time; you can join servers, watch streams, and even broadcast your gameplay directly from your console dashboard.
Step 1: Linking Your Accounts
To use any Discord features, your Xbox and Discord accounts must be linked. If you did this years ago, you might need to re-link to access new features like direct-to-Discord streaming.
- Press the Xbox Button to open the guide.
- Navigate to Profile & system > Settings > Account > Linked social accounts.
- Select the Discord tile and choose Link.
- Follow the instructions to sign in via the console browser or scan the QR code with your mobile app.
Joining Voice Channels Directly
Gone are the days of needing your phone for every call. You can now browse your servers directly from the Xbox Guide.
- Press the Xbox Button and go to Parties & chats.
- Select Discord.
- Scroll through your available servers and select a voice channel to join instantly.
New for 2026: Stream and Watch
The Xbox/Discord partnership has expanded to include full video support.
| Feature | Capability |
|---|---|
| Stream Your Game | Broadcast gameplay directly to a Discord server or DM. |
| Watch Friend’s Stream | View full-screen Discord Go Live streams on your console. |
| Nitro Perks | Stream in 1080p with higher frame rates. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. You can use the Xbox Guide to “View Stream” in full-screen or toggle between your game and the broadcast.
If a channel is locked or restricted, you may still need to use the Discord Mobile App to join first and then select “Join on Xbox” to transfer the audio.
Currently, Discord integration only supports gameplay streaming; it does not support broadcasting your own face via a connected USB webcam.
