Puzzle fit is a measurement problem. Compare the exact finished width and height with the board usable surface, then add the working margin you want on every side. Keep the packaging dimensions out of this calculation.
What to compare
Use the correct dimensions
Find the finished puzzle measurements for the exact product. Do not substitute the box size, shipping size, or a typical size for that piece count.
Usable board area
Measure the clear area inside raised edges or frames. A board exterior measurement may include space where puzzle pieces cannot lie flat.
Rotation and margin
Check both orientations and state whether the chosen margin is per side. A mathematical edge-to-edge fit leaves no extra area for sorting or fingers.
A detail worth checking
A board advertised for a particular number of pieces is not a universal size guarantee. The exact puzzle and board dimensions decide the fit.
Make your next session easier
Use the Puzzle Board Fit tool with matching units, allow rotation where practical, and verify the result against the physical workspace before buying.
