The Midnight Black DualSense is worth considering for a PS5 setup that needs a spare or replacement controller. PC buyers should begin with the games they play: connection support and the availability of a game’s DualSense features are separate questions.
Exactly what this guide covers
This is the standard DualSense Wireless Controller in Midnight Black, supplied as one controller. Check both the color and full product name when choosing a listing.
PlayStation’s Midnight Black product page lists the controller and user manual in the box. A USB cable is not included. PlayStation says PS5 owners can use the cable supplied with their console. For a PC setup, include an appropriate USB-C cable in your plan when your intended features require a wired connection.
Choose the connection around your games
PlayStation documents USB and Bluetooth use with supported Windows, Mac and mobile devices. Its device-support guide lists the operating-system requirements and pairing steps; check your particular device before buying.
On PC, haptic feedback requires a USB connection and a game that supports it. PlayStation does not support that haptic feature on Mac or mobile. Adaptive triggers also need game support and are not supported on Android. These restrictions matter if those effects are the reason you want this controller.
For PS5 play, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers likewise depend on the game. Think of them as capabilities a game can use, rather than effects promised in everything you launch.
Who should shortlist it?
It makes sense when you want this color and have a confirmed use for another controller. Before replacing a working controller for PC, compare the features your actual games support with what you already have. A familiar, compatible controller may already meet your needs.
If you are buying for an original Switch-family console, review the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller guide instead and check that platform’s game requirements.
Common questions
Can I assume Bluetooth enables every PC feature?
No. Check the game’s controller support and PlayStation’s connection requirements before choosing wireless play.
Should I buy a cable at the same time?
Check what you own first. The standard controller package does not supply one, and your planned setup may need it.
